Separatist movement in Balochistan funded by India: Sardar Sanaullah Khan Zehri

QUETTA: Senior Minister and Balochistan PML-N chief Sardar Sanaullah Khan Zehri has said that India has been financing a separatist movement in the province and expressed fear that a ‘superpower’ and some other neighbouring countries may also extend financial support to it if the Gwadar port is made operational.

Talking to reporters at his official residence here, he said the Gwadar port had great geo-political importance and making it operational might affect the business of some other ports in the region.

“India is involved in financing separatists’ movement in Balochistan and a superpower and some neighbouring countries may contribute in efforts to destabilise Pakistan by creating more unrest in the province if the deep-sea port of Gwadar is made operational,” he said.

However, the new port would greatly boost the economy of the region by increasing trade activities through an economic corridor for China, Central Asian states, Afghanistan and Pakistan, he said.

“Gwadar port will boost our national economy and create job opportunities for thousands of youths in Balochistan.”

He said he would fully back Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch in measures to be taken for restoration of peace. “Progress and prosperity cannot be achieved until peace is restored in Balochistan,” he said.

He said the PML-N would observe a ‘martyrs’ day’ at Anjira, Khuzdar, on April 17 and hold a condolence reference for his son Mir Sikandar Jan Zehri and other members of his family who had died in various attacks.

Exposing Naraz Baloch

As a result of the general elections 2013, the government led by the nationalist leader Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch was established in Balochistan, while on December 7, 2013; local bodies elections were largely held in a peaceful manner in the province. However, these elections proved that majority of the Baloch are loyal to the federation, and do not favour separation of the Balachistan, as they have rejected the case of separatists, being projected by anti-Pakistan powers. Even a Gallup survey of the UK official body, DFID, conducted on July 20, 212, had disclosed that the vast majority of the Baloch people oppose the idea of an independent Balochistan. This survey has also proved that some external elements have been conducting acts of sabotage in the province by backing the minority groups.

As regards the deteriorating situation of Balochistan and the missing persons, everyone knows that Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), Baloch Salvation Front (BSF) and their affiliated outfits including another group, Jundollah (God’s soldiers) which have been fighting for secession of the province gets logistic support from American CIA and Indian RAW—these militants kidnapped and killed many innocent people and the security personnel in the province. They also massacred many persons through suicide attacks, bomb blasts, targeted killings and sectarian violence. Therefore, they are responsible for dumped bodies and extrajudicial killings in the province. On a number of occasions, these insurgent groups claimed responsibility for their subversive acts. A majority of the disappeared individuals are also in the detention centers (Farrari Camps) which are being run by foreign-assisted Baloch feudal lords (Sardars) who want to continue old system of feudalism in the province so as to maintain their status, prestige and influence at the cost of people of the province.

It is mentionable that India, US and Israel have been internationalizing the Balochistan issue in accordance with their secret goals. In this respect, in connivance with the Baloch separatist leaders who have taken refuge in Switzerland, Sweden, US and London, these external elements use media, various NGOs and human rights organizations for false propaganda against Pakistan’s security  agencies in relation to extrajudicial killings, mutilated bodies and the missing persons.

Nonetheless, Baloch dissidents are still playing in the hands of external secret agencies which have anti-Pakistan agenda. They intend to continue unrest in Balochistan by using the dissidents as tools of their strategy so as to pollute the minds of the Baloch youth.

Who are Naraz Baloch and Who are Baloch Subnationalist

Balochistan is always projected as an area having many problems. For the last decade or so it has turned into a playing field of different regional and global powers. Intelligence agencies of different countries have been using politically and ideologically half-baked, directionless and unemployed Baloch youth for their vested geo-political interests.

Sarmachars', as the armed militants are called in the local language, have always been given special space and attention by most of the mainstream media of Pakistan, probably to secure sympathies of different segments of society. But the 'indigenous' people of the province do understand the fact that these separatists only constitute 1 - 2 % of the total population, and this is a well known fact that the foreign hand is at their back. Human rights organizations and media have been mourning together for miscreants but no one bothered to raise the voice for those who have been martyred by these miscreants as if they were not humans hence deserve no consideration. In fact, these few people have been made hostage the entire population of Balochistan. Many people paid with their lives for chanting slogans of their love for Pakistan. They are the real Pakistani heroes who remain unknown to our media and are not being given the due coverage.

Anti State Balochs are threatening Pakistan’s national unity not only through its involvement in subversive acts from within but also by establishing rapport with external forces. It has sought the assistance of the United States by contacting some US Congressmen in order to gain moral and material support to continue its subversive and separatist acts.

Majority of Baloch people celebrate 14th August, demonstrate their loyalty and love to Pakistan by taking personal risks, but still stay unworthy for media coverage. These miscreants / anti-state Baloch usually presented as 'angry Baloch brothers' in media domain have apparently free hand to kill anyone. Not a big deal ! These cruel people don't spare anyone: labourers, teachers, doctors, settlers, railway track, gas pipeline, Ziarat Residency of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and even local Baloch people. They are assassinating innocent people everyday but there is hardly any voice to expose their cruelties, and this has created an environment of fear in the province. Local people fearing that their misery may never end often subdue to the nefarious designs of these terrorists. Why only so many voices for 'missing persons' an maligning of LEAs, and no voice for these 'living persons' whose only crime is love for Pakistan and desire to live peacefully. Do they not deserve our attention, care and sympathy, too?

Government of Pakistan should not allow any group of adventurers who live abroad to undermine the nation’s safety and security, as well as to forfeit any part of the country. It should also be noted that Naraz Baloch are patriotic Pakistanis having reservations over priority set by Government of Pakistan and Government of Balochistan. The people of Balochistan like the rest of the people of Pakistan are keen to safeguard the unity and territorial integrity of the nation.

Baluchistan :Game of Proxies

Baluchistan is a vast yet sparsely populated province of Pakistan, wracked by tribal feuds since decades . Suddenly it was turned into a volatile region by employing proxies. The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) was founded in 1999 , this was the main faction and it was involved in terrorism, kidnapping for ransom and bomb blasts. It was declared a terrorist organization by Pakistani and British governments but not the US government. Militant groups emerged and appealed to Washington for support and opposed China’s building of the port at Gwadar. They accused Pakistan of not spending money on development projects in Baluchistan and using the provincial oil and gas reserves.

If this was true why were Gwadar and Ormara being developed to bring prosperity and jobs to Baluchis ? The vagrant tribal leaders were used , they were all given sanctuary in places like Switzerland and London where they maintain a lavish lifestyle. Some Pakistani television channels were employed to spread the so-called ‘movement’. The same channels also had newspapers which were employed for the same , a few anchors and Tarek Fatah, a Canadian journalist , were the main champions . Their tactics were to blame the army for violence against tribals when in fact the Pakistan army has never been deployed to control the Baluchistan scenario. Only Rangers and other law enforcement agencies have been used to keep law and order in the province. The strategy was to try and involve the army and create a situation akin to that which was created in Libya. Hue and cry was raised about missing persons , actually most missing persons were those who had gone to join the BLA.

Social media was also used and Amnesty International was contacted by these overnight secessionists . The s?tuat?on ?n Afghan?stan seems unstable ?n the future and UN /US sanctions on Iran are unlikely to be lifted for many years so the China -Pakistan route would be the best option for Central Asia .This is where Baluchistan plays a pivotal role and this is why some tribal leaders were financed to make noise for secession of the province . This insurgency was engineered to prevent Gwadar port from becoming operational and connect China and Pakistan as an international trade corridor .The plan was to deny Baluchistan to Pakistan by creating an internal artificial mess . Gwadar’s development will also integrate Kech region/Turbat into the national mainstream due to its proximity with the region decreasing the effectiveness and appeal of the Baloch mercenaries masquerading as aggrieved nationalists.

The US and India and UAE have been financing and training mercenaries to make the emergence of Gwadar impossible. Pakistan had been sharing proofs of Indian involvement with Delhi since 2006 under the anti-terror mechanism.Prime Minister Singh had been shown proofs also in 2009 at the Sharm El Sheikh summit by then prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani The Baluchistan issue was discussed at length but India did not end its support to BLA and BRA . RAW has been providing arms and mini fortress type of establishments to the militants as well as providing arrangements in exile. Baluch leader Mengal has admitted there is foreign involvement in Baluchistan militancy Separatist groups like Baluch Republican Army and Baluch Liberation Army have upped the ante since the death of Bugti in 2006 with foreign funding.

The interests of India and US converge on this issue and they are funding the insurgency so that Pakistan remains unable to build rail and road infrastructure in Balochistan which is essential for port operation. The issue of “missing persons” is a part of the game plan which is pressurizing the apex court to indict the security establishment . UAE has its own interests in Baluchistan and Gwadar port as it will undermine UAE’s commercial interests by taking trans-shipment business away from the port of Dubai. UAE is also one of the financiers of the BLA. The notorious Shamsi Air Base in Baluchistan was built by UAE Sheikhs and handed over to the US. Baloch insurgents often claimed that they receive financial support from Dubai.

BLA has a strong presence in Dubai, Switzerland and Afghanistan and UAE’s intelligence agency is working in cover to support the insurgents. Gwadar would lessen the importance and growth of Dubai as well , once it is launched as a free economic zone. Its natural layout and depth will enable largest tonnage ships to dock there, a characteristic absent in Dubai and Chahbahar. The US has refused Pakistani requests for the Baluchi militants to be placed on a list of terrorist organizations. Sections of the US political establishment have even raised the possibility of supporting “Baluchi self-determination” to warn Islamabad not to tie itself too closely to Beijing. US Congressman Dana Rohrabacher introduced a resolution in the US House of Representatives calling upon Pakistan to recognise the Baloch right to self determination , this was one year before Gwadar was handed over to China by Pakistan government .This was when the Baluchistan insurgency reached its peak .In February 2013 , Gwadar was handed over formally and Dana Rohrbacher went wild in the same month demanding a referendum in Baluchistan .So Kashmir never came to his mind where one million Indian army wreaks havoc refusing to carry out the referendum specified in a UN resolution many decades ago ? Ignoring Indian war crimes in Kashmir and other provinces and targeting Pakistan for their own ends , that is the United States. The US is nakedly complicit in the whole Baluchistan affair , this is irresponsible , blatant interference.

A few American personalities are heavily involved in the imbroglio, Professor Christine Fair is one of them .She goes hysteric and jingoistic in her accusations against Pakistan army , nobody gives much importance to her in her country though .She is so biased against Pakistan it is almost funny . Baluchistan and Xinjiang are the largest, least developed and restive provinces in Pakistan and China . A certain Uighur factor was also introduced.

Most Uighurs practice a moderate form of Islam, are politically dis organized, and have not made any clear political demands. In 2006 the US captured some of them from what it says are AfPak combat zones, shortly after that suddenly they were claimed to be in Pakistan’s tribal areas , most probably placed there. After this most of the terrorism in China was blamed on them, recently even the Kunming knife attack and some news sources even linked them up with the Malaysian airline mystery . So , in other words this is the plan to spoil Pakistan/ China relations . Another latest development an Uighur vowing revenge on China hiding in secret mountain bases on Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan, Uighur fighters are just a couple of hundred but both Pakistani and Chinese governments have to understand the game make joint efforts to crush them . Efforts were made by vested interests to create a rift between both countries with terrorist attacks , kidnapping of Chinese engineers and trying to establish links between militants in Baluchistan and Xinxiang .

The militants had increasingly targeted Chinese engineers and workers as planned by their masters . The players of this game have under estimated China which would see Gwadar through and bring a new era for Pakistan . Pakistan,s long term strategy is much more substantial than India’s in the long run and Gwadar is a huge game changer. As of now the situation in Baluchistan is under control , it is peaceful and on the way to prosperity . It would not be wrong to say that right now the Baluchistan insurgency only exists on social media where it is propagated with fake Baloch ids with Indians, Tarek Fatah and the ubiquitous Christine Fair cheering it on.

QUETTA – Pakistan is undergoing the most critical phase of its history since its inception and is battling the menace of terrorism with utmost vigour. The peaceful holding of General Elections in May this year testified the resilience and resolve of 180 million people not to succumb to the demands of handful extremists who, at the behest of RAW and other hostile powers, intend to impose their own version of ideologies by making people hostage to their ruthless agenda. Pakistan is also wary of India'sincreasing role in Afghanistan under the garb of reconstruction and rehabilitation projects and usage of its soil for fuelling militancy in FATA and Balochistan which, it considers as a grave threat to the national security and solidarity.

One is extremely alarmed by opening up of a number of unjustified Diplomatic Missions by India across Afghanistan. India has also opened Consulates in Heart, Mazar-e-Sharif, Jalalabad, and Kandahar, and the global media reports and international spy agencies have proved at number of occasions that these ‘Indian Missions are actually providing cover to Indian intelligence operatives to carry out covert operations against Pakistan, as well as exacerbate separatism in Balochistan province.

Under the prevalent environs, Balochistan issue is developing into the most traumatized issue of the country. Complexity is aggravating with each passing day owing to convergence of interests of regional & global stake holders. Terrorist activities across country including suicide bombings, target killings and sectarian violence have drastically amplified in recent years due to the irrefutable involvement of foreign intelligence agencies especially India’s RAW. The deep rooted involvement of RAW and other hostile intelligence agencies in Balochistan province is obviously due to overabundance of natural resources embedded in the region. According to an estimate Pakistan has 25.1 trillion cubic feet of confirmed Gas reserves out of which nineteen trillion are to be found in Balochistan.

Research indicates that RAW in collaboration with Afghan intelligence agency NOS is actively providing covert financial and weapon support to Baloch militant groups such as the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), Baloch Republican Army (BRA), Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) etc for conducting terrorist activities in Balochistan. The outfits are treading the separatist's agenda and are responsible for causing mayhem in the province. Irrefutable evidences suggest that Baloch militants are being harboured at various places and training camps located at Kabul, Nimroz and Kandahar in Afghanistan by RAW in collaboration with Afghan intelligence agency NOS since 2006.

RAW is also providing sustained financing and monetary support to Baloch feudal & militants both in Afghanistan and Balochistan. Besides, RAW, with the complete support and patronage of Afghan authorities, is also involved in provision of Arms &ammunitions to Baloch militants for conducting terrorist activities inside Pakistan.

Highly credible sources, privy to confined circles also point out about the evidences held by them regarding RAW's involvement in provision of fake identity and travel documents to Baloch militants for moving out of Afghanistan to India, UAE and Western countries. It is arranging visits of Baloch sub nationalists and militants to India for training purposes. In this regard RAW arranged visit of Riaz Gull Bugti (leading militant commander of Brahamdagh Bugti) to India in September 2009, where he was briefed and trained by RAW for terrorist activities. In order to overcome the linguistic problems in future, RAW is also involved in arranging Balochi language courses in India for Afghan Intelligence operatives through Balochi instructors, so that their expertise could be utilized for creating further unrest in the ,province through terrorist activities.

Research reveals that RAW, in collaboration with prominent Baloch sub nationalists round the globe is also persistently utilizing various international forums, NGOs and think tank organizations, such as United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) regular sessions etc for maligning Pakistan through arranging stage managed events such as pre-planned anti- Pakistan interventions, media briefings, protests & demonstrations etc.

"Their convergence, facilitation (lodgment, travel expenses etc) and subsequent media (including vibes) propagation is managed and funded by RAW and other hostile Intelligence Agencies through their operatives.

Investigations indicate that Tarek Fateh, a Canada based political activist and sympathizer of Baloch sub nationalists, after spitting his venom against Pakistan during UNHRC 22nd session at Geneva in February 2013, visited India on RAW's sponsorship for getting commendation and future directions. He also held one-on-one meetings with RAW’s ex senior officers VikramSood & A SDaulat, which amply highlights the evil nexus.

Investigations indicate that Pakistani security agencies have the undeniable evidences of RAW's involvement in Karachi terrorist activities where some terrorists, after conducting the heinous crimes, went to RAW offices along Afghan border to show them the videos, collect money and get directions for further operations. Evidence of provision of millions of Dollars to these militants by RAW are held by Pakistani Intelligence agencies while some security agencies of certain friendly countries are also in possession of similar evidence.

Internationa media investigations indicate that close relatives and friends of Hakim Ullah Mehsod and Moulana Fazlullah frequently visit Afghanistan for meeting RAW officers under diplomatic cover at Indian Embassy, Consulates and collect millions of Dollars to conduct terrorist acts back in Pakistan.

These investigations reveal that the Swat’s militants are being facilitated through camps in area of Kunar and Nuristan. They are given training and weapons to conduct organized militant actions againstPakistan's regular and civil Armed Forces in FATA areas. Molana Fazlullah and his commanders openly travel across Afghanistan and visit Indian Embassy, Consulates, RAW and NOS offices, as if Afghanistan is their home town.

Media investigations reveal further that India’s RAW and Israel’s Mossad are running joint operation against Pakistan’s nuclear assets and thus both are contributing full share in providing funds and direction to militants for conducting terrorist activities, targeted at locating and destroying Pakistan’s nuclear installations.

Exploitation of social vibes i.e. internet, Face book, Twitter, Blogs etc are also on RAW's top agenda, as it is actively involved in unleashing massive propaganda and disinformation campaign on Balochistan issue vis-a-vis maligning Pakistan through this medium with fake identities. The Daily Mail’s investigations indicate that around 4 dozen fake blogs and websites as well hundreds of fake Face book and Twitter IDs are being run by RAW to supports its operations against Pakistan in the cyber world.

Activities of Baloch miscreants

Significant improvement has been noticed in the law and order situation of the province since Dr Abdul Malik took over as the chief executive of Balochistan in June 2013. This improvement in the situation is a good omen for the people of the province who suffered at the hands of miscreants of banned terrorists organizations like; Baloch Libration Army (BLA), Baloch Republican Army (BRA), etc. In order to terrify the innocent people of the province, these terrorist organizations torture and kill those who oppose their ideology and anti state activities. Whereas the local law abiding citizens of the province are viewing this betterment in the law and order situation positively, the terrorist organizations take it as a challenge to their sway. They see these developments as an end to their evil designs.

Over last two decades, the terrorists\' organizations BLA, BRA, BLF and many other miscreants backed by their external supporters have been killing innocent Balochs and put the blame on the law enforcement agencies. These terrorists employ coercive techniques and cruel methods to intimidate local people to expand their influence and enlarge their support base. Their oppressive designs are extremely harsh as they brutally kill innocent people and throw away the dead bodies to inflict psychological pain to the bereaved families impersonating their frightening clout and masquerading posture. Miscreants demonstrate their real mischief by shifting the blame of their heinous crimes to Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) including FC/MI/ISI. Hence, by playing the double game they manage to hide their crime and present themselves as victims. Media, Judiciary and political leaders due to their vested interests or insular mindset fall prey to the elusive schemes and deception plans of miscreants. Unfortunately, investigative media, Judiciary and elite leadership have not been able to uncover the real designs of militants who frequently kill innocent civilians in Balochistan and then openly grumble through media insinuating that LEAs were responsible for such killings.

In a recent incident, the terrorists of BRA abducted and murdered cold bloodedly, a young boy of 14 years old in Pangur District of the province. The poor boy named Chakkar son of Khuda Dost, resident of Paroom, District Pangur, was abducted by a group of BRA motorcyclists from Turbat City (fish market), on 7th January 2014. After 3xdays, his bullet-ridden body was found from Kech Kour - Koshkalat Area of Tehsil Turbat and handed over to his family. Following the incident, BRA terrorists accused law enforcement agencies, especially ISI for committing this inhuman act of terrorism. On January 16, 2014, the family members and other locals of the area, who knew the real culprits, carried out a protest demonstration against the brutal act of BRA and demanded the Government to take punitive actions against these terrorist outfits and their foreign sponsored. The protest was held at Turbat Main Chowk in front of Press Club Turbat, District Kech. Protesters chanted slogans against BLF/BRA for targeting innocent people. The protesters demanded from the Govt to eliminate terrorist organizations targeting innocent people of Mekran Division and disturbing law and order situation in the area. Another similar demonstration was held on 18th January 2014 at Press Club Turbat by the relatives of Javed s/o Qasim resident of Azian, Tehsil Tump, District Kech, who was also killed by miscreants ex BLF on 21 December 2013 in Hochat area, Tehsil Dasht, District Kech. The question arises, why law enforcement agencies could have killed a 14 years old boy, working in a fish market. Indeed, this is a terrorists tactics, to enlarge their sway and defame the state agencies.

In other similar incidents, terrorists of BRA killed a laborer named Qadir Bakhsh son of Khuda Bukhsh resident of Sind on November 14, 2013. The incident took place at Dashti Bazaar Turbat, District Kech and BRA miscreants mercilessly killed the youth using pistol. In yet another incident, on November 18, 2013, miscreant ex BLF in Josak area, Tehsil Turbat and District Kech, killed three innocent persons belonging to Dera Ghazi Khan (Mulazim son of Fazal Hussain, Abdullah son of Mulazim and Mustafa). On November 27, 2013, in Turbat, District Kech Abdul Karim son of Gambar from Zehri (Khuzdar) was abducted by BRA militants and his body was thrown away on 28th November 2013. The poor fellow was a popcorn seller but was eliminated by trigger happy and power hungry miscreants of BRA. On November 12, 2013, in Turbat city four miscreants of BRA killed two sweepers and fled away. Both the deceased persons were government servants employed at Technical Training Centre Turbat and belonged to Sindh. These poor people were not doing any harm, but just earning their bread, once killed by the terrorists.

Although, the province of Balochistan has been on the hit list of international forces, ever since Pakistan came into being. These forces however could muster only handful supporters to implement their agendas. The local miscreants are now in difficult situation, where they find less space to manoeuvre and implement their nefarious designs. Indeed, the people of Province have understood their game plan and are now protesting against their brutal activities. Owing to the changes in the regional global politics, the international forces have intensified their activities for destabilizing the province. In this regard, even MPs sitting in the US Congress were found in overt planning against the state of Pakistan and US Government could do little against them. Then, the neighboring countries of Pakistan are funding the terrorists\' organizations to wage war against the state of Pakistan.

Pakistani media and scholars should highlight these aspects of brutalities against the poor people of Province by the banned militant organizations of the province. Through an open media debate, people of the province should be made aware of the anti-state activities of the BRA, BLA, BLF and such like other miscreants. Besides, exposing the local miscreants, the media and intellectuals of Pakistan should expose the international forces, which finance these people. After all, for how long, should the poor masses continue suffering at the hands of these militants and their foreign abettors? 

Pakistan: Turbat incidents Expose Baloch Miscreants’ Cruelties

As a result of the elections 2013, the government led by a nationalist leader Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has been established. Being progressive and moderate man, he ensured that socio-economic justice would meet with success, while playing a key role in empowering Baloch leaders to manage the affairs of their province and also to participate in Pakistan’s decision-making process. And on December 7, 2013; local bodies elections were largely held in a peaceful manner in Balochistan.

While terror-acts still keep on going in Balochistan, but without grasping reality, and speaking in the tone of external entities, some politicians, human rights activists and media persons of Pakistan have been propagating against Pak Army, Frontier Constabulary (FC), country’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI) including other law-enforcing agencies regarding subversive acts in the province. It seems ridiculous when some of them allegedly say that security agencies are behind terrorist activities in Balochistan.

It is mentionable that India, the US and Israel have been internationalizing the Balochistan issue in accordance with their secret designs. In this respect, in connivance with the Baloch separatist leaders who have taken refuge in Switzerland, Sweden, US and London, these foreign elements use media, various NGOs and human rights organizations for false propaganda against Pakistan’s security forces and ISI in relation to extrajudicial killings, mutilated bodies and the missing persons.

It is notable that Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) is also in collusion with some US Congressmen to get foreign support so as to animate the scheme of separatism in Balochistan. For the purpose, BLA and the Baloch feudal lord, Khan of Kalat had planned to take the issue of Balochistan to International Court of Justice (ICJ) and expected that India would pay $2.4 million lawyers’ fee to contest their case in ICJ. As Indian support did not get materialized, BLA and Khan of Kalat went over to US leaders to press forward their case.

In February 8, 2012, three Republican Congressmen including Dana Rohrabacher, Louie Gohmert and Steve King tabled a bill before US Congress stating, “Balochistan is currently divided between Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan with no sovereign rights of its own. In Pakistani Balochistan the people are subjected to violence and extrajudicial killings.” The bill favoured Baloch rights of self-determination, having a sovereign state.

Earlier, the US subcommittee on ‘Oversight and Investigations of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs’ convened a hearing on extrajudicial killings and violation of human rights in Baluchistan. Rohrabacher chaired the meeting, while Lt. Col. (R) Ralph Peters testified. Lt. Col. (R) Peters is the architect of infamous 2006—New Middle East map and is an advocator for the disintegration of Muslim states on sectarian and religious lines. His map shows a number of Islamic countries including Pakistan as truncated. While writing in the June 2006 issue of The Armed Forces Journal of the US, he had suggested Washington about the creation of a “Greater Balochistan” which would integrate the Baloch areas of Pakistan with those of Iran—and the Frontier Province (Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa) should be incorporated into Afghanistan.” 

Although the US Administration quickly distanced itself from Congressional hearing by Rohrabacher and Peters’ testimony, yet US denial does not augur well with ground reality, as American think tanks, NGOs and websites go on instigating the separatist elements in Baluchistan. US State Department which funded National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and Voice of Baluchistan (VOB) have been instrumental in fomenting dissension and nationalistic feelings in the province. It has been pressurizing Pakistan to allow opening of a US consulate in Quetta. The aim is to execute America’s clandestine aims against Islamabad.

As regards the deteriorating situation of Balochistan and the missing persons, everyone knows the foreign-backed separatist groups such as the BLA, Baloch Liberation Front (BLF), Baloch Republican Army (BRA) and their affiliated outfits including another group, Jundollah (God’s soldiers) which have been fighting for secession of the province get logistic support from American CIA and Indian RAW—these miscreants kidnapped and killed many innocent people and the security personnel in the province. They also massacred many persons through suicide attacks, bomb blasts, targeted killings and sectarian violence. Therefore, they are responsible for dumped bodies and extrajudicial killings in the province. On a number of occasions, these militant outfits claimed responsibility for their subversive acts. In fact, miscreants in Balochistan employ coercive techniques and cruel methods to intimidate local people to expand their influence and enlarge their support base. Their oppressive tactics are extremely harsh, as they cruelly kill innocent people and throw away the dead bodies to inflict psychological pain to the bereaved families, impersonating their frightening clout and masquerading posture.

These ruthless killers demonstrate their real mischief by shifting the blame of their heinous crimes to law-enforcement agencies including FC, MI and ISI. Hence, by playing the double game, they manage to conceal their brutalities, and present themselves as victims. Unfortunately, due to their vested interests and insular mindset, some media analysts and political leaders of Pakistan fall prey to the elusive schemes and deceptive plans of the Baloch miscreants. In this regard, investigative media, judiciary and elite leadership have not been able to uncover the real designs of the militants who frequently assassinate innocent civilians in Balochistan through cruel techniques, and then openly grumble through media by insinuating that security forces and law-enforcing agencies are responsible for such killings.

In this respect, illegal abduction and cold blooded murder of the 14 years young boy, namely, Chakkar, son of Khuda Dost, resident of Turbat city, is a case in point. On January 7, 2014 at 4 PM, a group of unknown motorcyclists kidnapped Chakkar from Turbat city’s fish market.

After three days, his bullet-ridden body was found from Kech Kour-Koshkalat area of Turbat, and handed over to his family. Later on, the miscreants propagated that ISI was involved in abduction and killing of an innocent child. But, technical probe, undoubtedly, proved that miscreants of the BRA were involved in kidnapping and merciless killing of that young boy. After knowing the true picture of the incident, on January 16, 2014, a protest demonstration was staged by family members and relatives of the late Chakkar at the Main Chowk in Turbat in front of Press Club Turbat, District Kech.

The aggrieved protesters chanted slogans against BLF and BRA for targeting guiltless people. They demanded from the government to eliminate terrorist organizations which have been targeting innocent persons of Mekran Division and are disturbing law and order situation in the area. Another similar demonstration was held on January 18, 2014 at Press Club Turbat by the relatives of Javed, resident of Azian, Tehsil Tump, District Kech, who was also killed by the Baloch miscreants of the BLF on December 21, 2013 in Hochat area, Tehsil Dasht, District Besides, on November 27, 2013, in Turbat, District Kech, Abdul Karim from Zehri (Khuzdar) was abducted by the BRA culprits and his body was thrown away on November 28, 2013. The poor fellow was a popcorn seller, but was eliminated by trigger-happy and power hungry culprits Similarly, on November 12, 2013 in Turbat city, four miscreants of the BRA murdered two sweepers and fled away. Both the deceased persons were government servants, employed at Technical Training Centre Turbat and belonged to Sindh.

While, on November 14, 2013, the cruel insurgents of the BRA killed a laborer, namely, Qadir Bakhsh, resident of Sindh. The incident took place at Dashti Bazaar Turbat, District Kech and the youth was brutally massacred, due to pistol used by the BRA terrorists. And on November 18, 2013, three innocent persons belonging to Dera Ghazi Khan, namely, Mulazim, Abdullah and Mustafa were killed by the terrorists of the BLF in Josak area, Tehsil Turbat and District Kech.

Now, instead of shifting the blame game to the security forces, ISI and other law-enforcing agencies, our responsible media anchors and commentators must expose the real face of foreign enemies—assisting the Baloch miscreants who are not only involved in kidnapping the innocent civilians, but are also behind their cold blooded murder including mutilated bodies and extra-judicial killings. They cunningly pose themselves as victims whereas they are the real killers of innocent people. In this context, without any doubt, Turbat incidents have become a test case which exposes the Baloch miscreants’ cruelties.
